In March 2024, the Supertouch Kindness Foundation (SKF) held a vital community engagement event at RUGWA Hall in Mubi, in partnership with the Royal Heritage Health Foundation (RHHF). The gathering focused on addressing gender-based violence (GBV) while emphasizing the critical need for disability inclusion in prevention strategies. With participants ranging from grassroots leaders to individuals with disabilities, the event highlighted the importance of community-driven solutions and the active involvement of marginalized populations in creating effective, context-specific strategies.

The discussions led to the development of actionable plans aimed at improving GBV prevention efforts and ensuring that the unique challenges faced by individuals with disabilities are addressed. Participants shared successful case studies and committed to ongoing collaboration to sustain grassroots initiatives. Key recommendations included securing increased funding, continuing awareness campaigns, and establishing follow-up mechanisms to assess progress. This event marked a significant step towards fostering inclusive community-based initiatives that recognize and support the needs of all members, particularly those with disabilities.
