Community Advocacy Visit to JONAPWD (MUBI NORTH)

On May 2nd, 2024, Supertouch Kindness Foundation (SKF) and the Royal Health Heritage Foundation (RHHF) joined hands for a pivotal Community Advocacy Visit to the Blind Workshop in Mubi North, Adamawa State, home to the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD).

Purpose and Impact

  • Strengthening Relationships: Our aim was to forge strong bonds with JONAPWD’s executive officials.
  • Project Familiarization: We introduced our project’s scope and objectives to JONAPWD stakeholders.
  • Community Identification: Identifying communities in dire need of intervention within Mubi North.
  • Volunteer Recruitment: Scouting for volunteers among persons with disabilities.

Engagement Highlights

  • Inclusive Communication: Through translators and a sign language interpreter, we ensured every voice was heard.
  • Enlightening Discussions: Participants delved into project details, innovations, and feedback mechanisms.
  • Gratitude and Feedback: Mr. Aliyu Abubakar, Chairman of JONAPWD, expressed appreciation, while Chairman Hamisu Ibrahim provided valuable feedback.
